Nectar is a bull that we had admired in France for years and had attempted to buy on numerous occasions. In 2004 it became obvious that he would never leave the Champeval herd, so we negotiated the purchase of his semen rights for the UK. In 2006, He finally joined the herd in the flesh for his last few years as our Stock Bull.
He is a Trait leader across the board in France.

His influence on the herd has been great, with bulls sold up to 10,000gns for Dyfri Casanova. However, his females are truly exceptional, and even as young cows they have demonstrated great potential and milkiness. Coleen, Charmante and Diadem stand out at the moment.
Dyfri Idris sold in a significant private deal

Dyfri Idris, the Junior Male Champion Limousin at this years’ Royal Welsh Show has been sold in a significant private sale.
He attracted the attention of many at the show, including the Supreme Interbreed Champion judge, Mr Elgan Jones, of Coedmore Hall, Lampeter, who together with his wife, Nesta, and daughter, Emily, are the new owners of Idris.
His sire is the 50,000gns Wilodge Cerberus, and his dam is the homebred Nectar daughter, Dyfri Elle. His maternal grand dam is one of the great Jockey daughters in the Dyfri Herd, Undeg, who is full sister to Neutron, the top priced Limousin sold in the UK in 1998 for 14,000gns.
Idris will go to work on the Coedmore Hall herd of exceptional commercial cows, and he was selected on the strength of his outstanding carcase qualities, coupled with a strong background of calving ease.
These traits are backed up by his high Beef Value of LM44 which puts him well in the top 1{2314e16ffbf685bd3edceea76128d3a1ae2b25f1e179a4072db01264e3aa33bb} of the breed for growth and muscle, coupled with a calving value of LM2C, which is significantly better than the breed average. He is also positive for almost all the maternal traits.
Over the last 20 years or more Elgan, Nesta and Emily Jones have invested consistently in the best Limousin bulls that are available, and their calves have featured regularly in the commercial show rings of the UK.
